I will be voting for Valerie Von Frank in the upcoming election.
In my opinion, Peter Trezize has been on the board far too long, and has a direct conflict of interest being an employee of the Lansing Public Schools.
Mary Graham has said she is not interested in curriculum and apparently prefers the Montessori method.
Bill Pemble has a large billboard, but hasn't said much else.
None of these candidates have one original idea regarding our children's well being and intellectual growth. They may all support the bond, but I am more interested in a board member who is honest and thoughtful and works well with the community....both those with kids and without.
Valerie has been the only candidate that is seeking to heal this fracture and actually sounds intelligent, fair-minded, and concerned about our kids. According to her literature, she is a mother and a writer. I worked with Valerie, years ago, and I found her to be serious and sensible....a real leader-type.
I like what I see and though I wasn't going to vote this time, I will lend my support to such a fine woman.
