Is there anyone in the community who questions the decision making ability of an elected official who is employed as a district administrator when money and contracts are concerned? With all of the economists, lawyers, judges, politicians, university professors and any man off the street in Okemos, does it seem fair and balanced for an administrator of another local district who makes human resource decisions to render fair decisions as an elected position of a school board in a resident district? Which hat does the school board member wear when deciding teacher contracts, hiring, approval of expenses, taking school of choice students from the staff he serves in his paid position to the elected position? Who is first on the allegiance food chain? How can a paid Central Office Administrator enter into contracts on behalf of two districts simultaneously- one that pays the salary and the elected position? How does the community feel about this conflict? Or is this not an issue when examples for contracts and pay arise at a board meeting and the anecdotal information to support expending financial resources are made on the job not board member observations? Would this happen in your work situation or is education void of conflict determinations?
