Wasn't there a huge fundraiser to "Save Fifth Grade Strings" a couple years ago, called Okemos Cares? Why wasn't the money raised put in a trust or invested to spin off income to keep Strings in perpetuity? Why is this program's existence brought up year after year? To extort parents and the musical community? Will there be an "Okemos Cares - Again"?
Strings will die on the vine, or become "pay to play" like everything else in the district.
